Yes, you read that subject correctly, our e-commerce site is going away, as of next week. While we we will no longer be in the selling fabric online business, we will still be happy to take phone orders and ship fabric anywhere in the country. But why the change you ask? Read on, friends.
A couple years ago we decided to take the plunge into the world of e-commerce. For several months Kelsey and I spent countless hours developing (and trouble shooting) the website you all may know, www.ufabstore.com. We had an assumption of what we were getting ourselves into, but had no idea the amount of work it would take to maintain a fabric store online. If you have been in our store lately you can attest that the store has so many more fabric offerings than our website. That is because we are constantly curating our collection to keep up with the latest trends. This makes our online store so very difficult to maintain, and because our site does not have the latest and greatest displayed, we know we are not putting our best foot forward (think about wearing your jeans and faded t-shirt to a business meeting and feeling so underdressed – when you have a closet of brand new outfits waiting to be worn).
While we have built what I believe to be a very wonderful fabric store online, we realize that this is not the path we should be taking. Besides not being able to keep up with our ever changing textile offerings, we can never show you online just how beautiful a fabric truly is, fabric is so tactile. And unfortunatley the sales on our online site, support our claims. But that’s okay, because we’d rather see you in person too!
In our next chapter we will be refocusing our energies to bring you the best in-store experience possible. You have voted us best Fabric Store, Re-Upholstery Services and Window Treatments for a reason, and we want to stay true to our roots. We want you to think of U-Fab as your one-stop interior design shop, with the best customer service in the industry.
While our vision may no longer include an online fabric library, we will continue to promote new exciting fabrics, creative furniture pieces, and the beautiful home tours our gracious customers allow us to share on our blog (and newly revamped web-site) and social media outlets. If you cannot make it to the stores and you see a fabric you love on our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube feed and would like to know more, we can always mail samples or fulfill fabric orders by phone. As I mentioned, we will be leaving the online store up until early next week. So if you have a sample order you’ve been wanting to place at ufabstore.com, now is the time.
Thank you for all of your support over the years,
