In the quaint museum district of Richmond, resides the gorgeous school teacher Jennifer along with her handsome husband, and friendly pooch. This area of Richmond, is one of the most coveted neighborhoods in our sprawling metro, with tree lined streets, peaceful sidewalks and historic homes galore, plus it is just a few minutes away from award winning restaurants and great shopping. Jennifer immediately invited me into her stunning home and told me about some of her gorgeous home’s history – even providing me with before pictures and pointing me towards an original blue print of the house that was framed in the family room. The home’s ambiance, had me yearning to be a guest at one of their dinner parties, which I’m sure are quite a treat.
Just one room in, and you see what I mean, right? The formal living room painted a deep slate blue, has a neutral color palate mixed with blues, creams grey and gold.
A stunning rolled arm curved sofa is accented with nail-heads and playful floral accent pillows.
A rich cherry fireplace, original to the home, sits beside a gorgeous mahogany chest.
The custom draperies are a tight embroidered dot fabric, that nod to modern in a space that is so classically themed.
I love the carved Louis Arm chairs with their tight nailhead details and topped with the luxurious VELV cut velvet chairs.
Tucked in the corner, an antique corner chair has our best selling DAPP fabric run on an angle, to mimic the asymmetry of the chair.
Another nod to great entertaining is tucked in the other corner.
The rich coral dining room framed by the deep original woodworking in the house, curved doorways and a built in China cabinet complete the warm and inviting space. French doors lead to their massive outdoor deck.
My favorite detail, a pair of very cool antique iron curved wingback chairs, which are a family heirloom.
The Kitchen received a major overhaul, as seen in the before and after photos above.
The family room also received an update, with a touch of paint and a fabulous window seat.
The bathroom is a far cry from the original!
The Master bedroom, reminds me of a tranquil B&B that I would never want to leave. The gorgeous antique bed, another family heirloom. And the sette and pillows were custom fabricated by U-Fab.
The guest room is another inviting space, with antique pillows, plush linens and a custom shaped u-fabulous headboard.
Thank you so much to Jennifer for welcoming us into her inviting and classically styled space!
