When the editor’s of R-Home reached out to us in early March to be featured in their upcoming outdoor spaces issue, we were over the moon excited. Not only was this great exposure for U-Fab, but we also got to spruce up our back yard in the process (and paint anything we came into contact with!). We were eager with anticipation as we waited for the paint to dry, and the article to go to print. And once we got our hands on a copy, we were thrilled with the results. Kudos to the art director V. Lee Hawkins and talented photographer, Isaac Harrell for really making our space shine, also as always our talented team at U-Fab for helping in fabric selection and of course the great sewing work you see below.

Here is a night shot of our entire outdoor entertaining space. We’ve built the deck, lower patio and shed (that you just see a corner of). Also we’ve painted the entire back of the house the gray you see in the shed. Along with hanging the lighting and creating a french pergola effect.
Here is a shot of our patio, that is great for sitting around the fire pit on those chilly spring nights. Speaking of chilly, fun fact, our original photo shoot date of Monday March 18, had to be pushed back to Wednesday, as we got a rare late March snow storm, dumping about 6 inches back here. Hence the dampness on the patio.
Here is a detail shot of our dining chairs, we love the combo of gold, red, black and white that gives them the retro vibe they deserve!
We fell in love with these plates and drew the entire inspiration for the furniture from them. We painted all of our furniture gold, used gold flatware, red fabric with a very small white pattern and we brought out our mid-century tumblers to complete the look.
Here is a shot of our sun room furniture. The chair and sofa were a craigslist find that we updated with some oil rubbed bronze spray paint and of course some new cushions and pillows c/o U-Fab.
We even have a little table for our son, he’s not quite old enough to sit on it yet, but his older cousins already have enjoyed it.
And a breakdown of our fabrics:
CASB-Madder – Paisley Pillow Fabric
VESP-Jewel – Rainbow Herringbone Fabric
GYPS-Caviar – Geometric rectangle pillows.
Stay tuned, as later this week I will take you on a U-Fab Home tour of the rest of our house!
