As promised we will reveal other parts of the amazing 2014 Charlottesville Design House. We’re deciding to break this up into a couple spaces per post, starting the rest of the tour with the two spaces that connect to our guest suite, the Foyer and the Blue Den across the hall from us.
Upon stepping into this magnificent home, you will be greeted by a gorgeous bright foyer designed by Moyanne Harding. A talented designer based in Lynchburg, VA. Moyanne and her team design and consult from concept to completion for personal residences, show houses, corporate offices, boutique hotels, and retail storefronts in the area. Moyanne even travels internationally to find one-of- a kind pieces for her clients and boutique.
We love the classic tiled floors and how they compliment the light grey geometric wallpapered walls. The black door ties in well with the rest of the foyer as well. And would you take a look at that gorgeous antique mirrored cornice board framing the window treatments.
Every detail in this space was beautiful, from the lighting choices, to the ornate railings on the staircase.
We’ve created a get the look board, based on Moyanne’s vision. These are the U-Fab fabrics you may consider for an equally serene space.
Welcome to the study. Where room designer Michelle Willis Adams took a pretty big risk painting the entire room blue. In the world of design, risks are a gamble, and this one paid off big time for Michelle. Michelle who has been in the design world since a very young age thanks to the influence of her successful designer mother, operates full service design business to both commercial and residential clients. Michelle believes strong listening skills are the most important tool a designer can possess. She strives to create each client’s personal vision of a beautiful, comfortable, functional home. She believes homes should never look “like a designer has been there,” but rather they should reflect the homeowner’s style. Making her clients’ lives easier by bringing the options to them, overseeing all aspects of the necessary design, sewing, and installation, and providing the finishing touches are Michelle’s focus.
She accented that rich blue with shades of black, white, red and gold, a classic color scheme that looks handsomely updated in this space.
This beautifully upholstered chair provides a lovely spot to read a book, or have a cordial.
We were so smitten with Michelle’s fabric combinations and choices we actually scouted the curtain fabric and will be offering it in various color ways very soon.
Behind the desk, a large gorgeous golden sunburst mirror framed by beautiful antique china give this space an old world feel.
We love how the mirror is such a contrast on the paneled blue walls.
But one of our favorite details, the ornate scissors of course!
We’ve created a get the look board, based on Michelle’s vision. These are the U-Fab fabrics you may consider for an equally eloquent space.
Stay tuned for additional rooms from this gorgeous 2014 design house.
